2009 was Jake’s “official” rookie season in the Limited Late Model Division. Jake spent the past 5 years crewing for M&M Motorsports and TK Motorsports. He has taken all that he has learned while working with these teams, built his own car and is trying his hand at being the driver.

With a limited budget, Jake raced 6 events at WIR in the 2009 season. Seat time was the most important thing to accomplish along with learning the best line around the track, qualifying, car setups and the limits of the race car.

There were many exciting evenings with trying to race from the Semi-Feature into the Feature. After starting in the back for most of the events due to limited seat time, Jake started on the front row in his final heat race for the season.  He jumped out to lead with the green flag and lead all laps winning his first heat race!  The excitement from getting that first win was slightly diminished later that evening when he was wrecked in the semi-feature. That night Jake experienced the best and the worst in racing. Fortunately, the win overshadowed the wreck.

All in all, it was a good season considering the limited budget and we can’t forget to mention the rookie crew!

2010 finds Jake planning on racing the complete season in the Limited Late Model division of the Fox River Racing Club.
